If you used your Apple ID when you purchased your membership, you will need to access The Local by clicking first on the Apple icon on the log in screen, then entering your Apple ID login information. Your email address will be anonymized at The Local (listed under an Apple ID-generated email), so it is not possible to log in to The Local directly by typing your email address and a password set with The Local.
To verify that your membership is accessible using your Apple ID follow these steps:
- Go to The Local edition/country page where you purchased your membership (Europe, Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden or Switzerland) and log in using the Apple icon and your Apple account details
- Once logged in, click on My account on the top right of the page and verify that there is a membership listed under Account Details, then Subscriptions.
To update your email address:
- Within My account, click on Account details, go to Your Profile, and change your email address there.
- If you do not start receiving emails at your updated email address, please submit a support request or reach out to us at support@thelocal.com to update your account. In order to verify your membership, we may ask for the date, amount and currency of your transaction, so please have this information ready.
